All I want for Christmas

Dear Grandma,
I have to tell you about my first Christmas.  It was such a lot of fun.  Mommy and Daddy were there and Uncle Tony came, and my Grandma arrived on the train carryting a huge bag of gifts.  I think some of them were for me.  Let me tell you about my Christmas.

All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth,
My two front teeth,
See my two front teeth!

So now that those teeth have arrived, my favorite thing to do is rub my tongue across them.  It's a very grown up thing for a little girl to do, don't you think?

All I want for Christmas is
A soft pink pony
A soft pink pony
All I want for Christmas is
The best rocking horse around.

My pony can whinny and sing a song to me.  It makes me laugh.  Daddy has to hold me on because my feet don't quite touch the ground.  Still, it is a lot of fun to do!

All I want for Christmas is
A tree full of lights
A tree full of lights
All I want for Christmas is
A huge green tree full of lights!

My family surprised me with the tree.  I had never seen a tree like this before.  I liked it.  And they thought I wasn't big enough to leave the tree alone.  (I must admit I had to crawl that way, but I would have been very very careful.)

All I want for Christmas is
A wobbling penquin
A wobbling penquin
All I want for Christmas is
A large wobbling penquin!

My daddy picked me up and helped me do a round house kick to the penquin.  I was very shocked and perhaps greatly surprised.  It made my mommy laugh very hard.

All I want for Christmas is
A Leap Frog Learning Table
A Leap Frog Learning Table
All I want for Christmas is
A flipping, rolling, singing Leap Frog Learning Table!

It speaks Spanish and English, too.  I stay very busy making things make noise.  I like it very much.

My first Christmas was so much fun!  Well--the two teeth did hurt, but the rest was a lot of fun!!!

Love you,
Maria

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

It was a very cold night when we took this picture.  We were having fun on the Trail of Lights in Austin.  I was probably lost in a crowd of people like I usually am.  You hadn't even been sent for yet.  I think I need to get a better picture this year.  What do you think?  I think those glasses look dorky.  Tell your mom that we need to redo this one.
This is my favorite picture on the Trail of Lights.

I just love blue lights.  Don't you?

Love ya!  Grandma

Alvin's Christmas Song for Maria

Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer.
We've been good, but we can't last.
Hurry Christmas, Hurry fast.

Want a plane that loops the loop.
Me, I want a hula hoop.
We can hardly stand the wait.
Please Christmas, Don't be late!

We can hardly stand the wait.
Please Christmas, Don't be late!

Splish, splash I was taking a Bath

Lyrics to Splish Splash by Bobby Darin

Splish splash
I was taking a bath
Long about on a Saturday night

Rub dub
Just relax in the tub
Thinkin everything was all right

Well I stepped out the tub
Put my feet on the floor
I wrapped my towel around me
And I opened the door
and then a
Splish Splash
I jumped back in the bath
well how was I to know there
was a party goin on?

There was a splishin' and splashin'
splishin' and a splashin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
movin' and a groovin'
Movin' and a groovin'
Reelin' with the feelin'
Reelin' with the feelin'
Splishin' and a splashin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
On a Saturday night!

Bing bang
I saw the great big gang
Dancin' on my livin' room rug
Flip Flop
They were doin' the bop
And they all had their dancin' shoes on
There was Lollipop, and Peggy Sue,
good golly Miss Molly was even there too
And well a Splish splash
I forgot about the bath
I went and put my dancin' shoes on!

There was a splishin' and splashin'
splishin' and a splashin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
Movin' and a groovin'
Movin' and a groovin'
Reelin' with the feelin'
Reelin' with the feeling'
Splishin' and a splashin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
On a Saturday night!

I was splishin' and a splashin'
Rollin' and a strollin'
Movin' and a groovin'
Reelin' with the feelin'
Splishin' and a splashin'
on a Saturday night!!!!!

Mommy's Kissing Santa Claus

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs for a peep.
She thought I was tucked
Up in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white.
Oh what a laugh it would have been
If daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Last night!

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bell swing and jingle bell bring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun!

( How do you like
new kitty kat glasses?  I'm so cool!)

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bell chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in jingle bell square
In the frosty air.

(My Nordic hat can stand any winter blast.)

What a bright time,
It's the right time
To rock the night away.
(What time is it?  Green cat thirty.)

Jingle Bell time is a swell time to go gliding in a
One-horse sleigh
Giddyup jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock.

(I think I could really learn to like this thing.  It tickles my toes.)

Mix and a-mingle in jingling feet
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell, That's the jingle bell rock.

(I don't care how long it takes my mama to put these things on.
I can take them off in a flash.
Let's dance!)
